This book club is for anyone with interests in both books and good beer. While still in it's infancy, the goal is to have a monthly book club with meetups at local breweries throughout Connecticut (and maybe beyond). Depending on group size, and venue, book discussion may be the ice breaker/social lubricant of the group (vs. the primary function). So those who would really like to deep dive the book of the month can, and others can prioritize socializing. My hope being that the group becomes whatever each member wants it to be for them. If interested, let us know what your priority is for the group via this poll: https://www.meetup.com/Brewery-Book-Club/polls/1275934/
So if you would like to join a new book club, explore local breweries, and meet new people - join us!
On May 2nd we'll be meeting at Stubborn Beauty Brewing Company (Middletown, CT). We'll be starting at 6pm and the taproom closes at 8pm - feel free to arrive as your schedule allows. When you arrive, look for the SCBBC logo.
We'll plan to make some quick introductions and briefly discuss the books of the month (10-15 minutes) and then break off to have some beers and socialize. For those that want to continue discussing the book(s), you'll have the opportunity to do so in smaller groups.
As a quick reminder, April's book selections Educated: A Memoir by Tara Westover (https://amzn.to/2CNDy7H) and The Immortalists by Chloe Benjamin (https://amzn.to/2UbvKXS).
