In this talk, Luke will discuss:
What is terahertz radiation, where does it lie in the electromagnetic spectrum and how does it interact with everyday objects around us?
Why do we care? And what is the incredible potential of this new form of light and its applications?
This will be followed by a brief insight into the active research in the field.

Dr Luke Peters (MPhys, PhD) is Research Fellow at the University of Sussex where he investigates the nature and the physical phenomena related to Terahertz Radiation. He is author of numerous scientific papers in international journals, and has given invited speeches. He is also recipient of the Roger Blin-Stoyle award for an outstanding PhD thesis in physics and is a member of the Optica society. His research on Surface Terahertz Phenomena is considered a reference in the field.
