Talks Night: Big Data Processing With Apache Spark

• What we'll do
In our first talk of 2018 Phil Messenger of Brandwatch talks us through the distributed data processing framework, Apache Spark.

He will not only show us the nuts and bolts of how to run a single node cluster as well as how to write and submit jobs to the cluster but also talk through just why this type of tool is so important to the modern data processing flow and how it can be effectively wielded to conduct many of the steps required in building data science, data analytics and machine learning pipelines.

Doors open at 7pm with a chance for developers to meet and talk. The last admittance and presentation start time is at 7:30pm. Developers of all levels are encouraged to join us, especially those new to Java.
