What we're about

This group is for LGBTQIAP geeks. We think it would be a great place for local geeks and nerds to meetup and be social. I have listed some common geek interests such as science fiction, technology and roleplaying but geeks of all flavors are welcome (basically anything you are passionate about). This is a LGBTQIAP & Non-Binary group. Allies are welcome, but must be respectful that this is an LGBTQIAP/Non-binary safe space, intolerant and phobic attitudes will not be acceptable, and it is not the responsibility of our members to explain concepts of sexual orientation, gender, pronouns, etc to you.

We are always interested in hearing people's suggestions for meet ups, we are all very friendly and look forward to welcoming new members.

Our current members geekiness includes technology, comic books, fanfiction, roleplaying games, to name just a few.

Please note that all cinema meet ups have an approximate time added (you need a time if you add the date), the actual time will be amended the Wednesday prior to the film showing once Odeon/Cineworld have released their schedule (unless advanced pre-booking applies).

Brighton and Hove LGBT Geeks does not insist on membership fees, but if you like what we are doing please consider paying the yearly dues of £5, it costs £140 per year in meetup fees to run this group. There is a link to pay this on the left hand side of the main page (not visible on the app).

We also have a page of items for sale: Fundraising page (http://www.meetup.com/Brighton-and-Hove-LGBT-Geeks/pages/20598299/Fundraising_-_Geeky_items_available/)

A relaxed and informal drop in style meet up. We will meet at 4pm at Presuming Ed's. Feel free to bring along games. See you there. Please note, we join up with the Brighton Bothways group who meet up at 3pm at the same venue. Please also note that both the LGBT Geeks and Brighton Bothways groups are safe spaces for all LGBTQIAP and non binary/genderfluid people, and as such all conversation/interactions should be non-judgmental. Also, please be aware that not everyone likes to be physically touched by people they do not know well, please be aware of consent when touching others. The venue is accessible to those in wheelchairs, and has a lovely selection of vegetarian food. Please do support the venue by buying a drink and/or food, as they let us book the venue at no charge.
