Martlets SnailSpace Trail
As the leaves turn golden in Autumn 2018 Snailspace Brighton & Hove is hitting the streets. We'll aim to see as many snails as possible over a couple of hours but, as it's Sunday, we'll aim to avoid the busiest parts of town. From the Peace Statue we'll pop into central Hove to see a couple around Palmeira Square then work our way back to the seafront and head to the Palace Pier. From there we'll head through Steine Gardens and through the North Laine aiming to finish at Brighton Station at close to 13:00. The Snail sculptures are decorated by local artists and community groups, and sponsored by local businesses and individuals. The fantastic ‘Snailway’ of sculptures is brought to you by Martlets Hospice, in partnership with Wild in Art, to raise funds for their life changing hospice care. Kevin

What we're about

Interested in exploring Brighton and Hove on foot?

We're a group of urban ramblers that set out on (at least) monthly walks around the city, taking in some of the favourite sites and places as well as exploring off the usual beaten track and getting out of the city boundaries a bit.

Walks can be anything from 1-2 miles and upwards; take place at a leisurely but not slow pace; tend to be on the first Sunday of the month but also include weekdays and evenings; and and dogs welcome!

Rambles aren't 'guided' so please don't come with the expectation that they are; the rambles are just that, a ramble through the city. Some walks are lead by a specialist guide, but otherwise the ramble leads may know a bit about the architecture and heritage of the routes and we all chip in with what we know about the area we're rambling as we walk along.
