# Welcome to the 35+ Queer & Lesbian and Bisexual Women & Non-Binary Community

Welcome! We are a friendly, self-organised, and community-funded social group for people aged 35 and over who identify as lesbian, bisexual, queer, trans women, non-binary, and gender-diverse individuals who feel comfortable in a space centred on queer women and non-binary experiences.
Our aim is to create a welcoming, supportive, and inclusive community where members can connect, build friendships, have fun, and enjoy shared experiences in a safe and respectful environment.
We host a variety of regular and one-off events throughout the year, including:

• Pub and café meet-ups
• Quiz nights
• Cinema, theatre, and live music outings
• Club nights and social gatherings
• Scenic walks and outdoor adventures
• Picnics, beach days, and BBQs
• Camping trips and bike rides
• Community celebrations and much more

This group is shaped by its members, and we welcome ideas for future events. If you'd like to suggest an activity or host an event, we'd love to hear from you. Please get in touch with one of the organisers—we are always happy to support members who want to help our community grow.

## Membership and Contributions

To help cover the costs of running the group, including Meetup platform fees and other administrative expenses, we ask for a one-time joining contribution of £5. If costs increase in the future, we may occasionally invite voluntary donations to help keep the group running.
Most events are free to attend, although some activities may involve additional costs such as admission fees, tickets, food, or transport. Any costs will be clearly stated in the event description.

## Creating a Safe and Respectful Community

We are committed to fostering a welcoming environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and able to be themselves. Group discussions, messages, and chats are moderated, and content that is discriminatory, offensive, harassing, or otherwise inappropriate may be removed.
To help members and event hosts recognise one another, we kindly ask all members to upload a clear profile photo when joining the group.
