🧪Automated Testing: Beyond End to End Testing - Dallas Clarke (@dallasclark) - 30min:
Think you've nailed your end to end strategies, or need some inspiration on what's on the horizon? This session will cover other automated testing strategies to minimise efforts in your teams, find issues sooner, and deliver high-quality products.
Dallas will also take us through automatic visual testing, automatic accessibility testing, and creating code quality gates.
⏱Networking during intermission - 25min:
Pizza thanks to PCCW Global's Brisbane team & Drinks thanks to Just Digital People :-)
🧪When to TDD - Kory Nunn (@KoryNunn) - 20min:
When it comes to test driven development, there are some vocal camps that will tell you TDD is awesome in their flow, but there's certainly others that don't see the benefit of placing these up front conditions in their situation. Kory will explore some of these merits, but even if you picked a side already, as he says; maybe both sides could be wrong?
🧪Intro to testing with Cypress - Ashley Davis (@ashleydavis) - 10min:
In this talk Ashley gives an overview and demonstration of using Cypress for testing web pages and REST APIs.
🥽Functions as a Service (FaaS): What's the Appeal? - Andrei Hawke (GH ahaw021) - 10 min:
Andrei comes to us today to explain why FaaS may be the preferred approach in the future for your dev needs, and explain it from the devops point of view. What is it and how can you start now?... how can devs help Ops specialists too? (with use cases based on Microsoft Azure stack)
❓Why not volunteer to speak next time? We're taking talks for March or April! Maybe May? Have you got something to say? Submit your talk today! https://brisjs.org/#present
