This Meet-up group is for Children’s Picture Book Writers and Illustrators and people who have an interest in this industry. The plan is to host a variety of events such as learning sessions, creativity events, speeches, and various workshops and projects.
In addition to the events mentioned above it is planned to have a "Support & Critique Group" where numbers of attendees is limited.
Description of the “Support & Critique Group”:
Creating children’s picture books can be a lonely job. Meeting people and finding support and feedback for our work can help us stay focussed and optimistic. This group is for children’s picture book creators of any skill level. It is a small (max. 8 members) and private group. Members have to be commited to the following rules: -Coming to every session (all 6 weeks on Saturday) -being on time (10am promptly) -being serious about getting published (published or not published authors!) -working with Ursula LeGuin method of running a critique group (Steering the Craft).
*** Costs for renting a room: GBP 6. -- / meeting. (Payment method: in forehand on a regularly basis)

That is the only reason to ask for some of your personal data. Your information is safe and will not be shared with anyone. You will get an invitation to our first group meeting by mail.

Fire Escape in Quakers House: In case of fire please follow the fire instruction signs, which are posted around the Meeting Room. The main fire escape is through the front door, the alternative route is down the back staircase.
The plan is to bring ChPB Artists together. The hope is collaboration between writers and illustrator. The details are to be added later. Join 'Laydeez Do Comics' award winning 'graphic novelist in progress' and comics artist Emma Burleigh for a workshop exploring word and image. We'll tease out your stories, drawing on dreams, memories and your own life experience for inspiration. Discover how images can give form to the places that words can't quite reach, and how words can reveal what you didn't quite know that you knew. By the end of the course you will have completed your own graphic short story.
