    What we're about

Around Bristol, Bath and the West of England there are many companies and people working on the IoT and its technologies - from semiconductors through wireless communication via cloud services to big data analytics. In the locality we also have some interesting deployments of cutting edge IoT technologies. For example, Connecting Bristol is looking at how cities will evolve as the IoT gets deployed, and SPHERE is looking at connected healthcare. The Bristol and Bath IoT Meetup is a regular event where people working in, or with an interest in the IoT can get together to hear about new developments and activities, and to network with people involved with the IoT. The organisers want to encourage participation from people across the whole range of the IoT and for the Bristol and Bath IoT Meetup to be the place for IoT networking in the West of England. We want this to help enable collaboration and the development of business ideas in this growing sector. The format of the Meetup is that after an opportunity for some networking, the Meet Up will feature two or three short talks about topics relevant to the IoT (e.g. IoT security, wireless technology, sensor technology, analytic infrastructure, off-the-shelf IoT modules, …), followed by more networking.
