Are you a fan of British telly, both current and past? Can you not get enough of British films? Then this meetup is for you!
Member interests in British film and telly are wide and include: comedy, sci-fi, fantasy, drama, period drama, detective, mystery & crime, documentary, war, action, cult, classics, etc. We've watched older stuff like Blake's 7 and Upstairs, Downstairs. We also follow some of the new stuff like Sherlock and Downton Abbey. (I am not as familiar with Coronation Street, Eastenders, and other soaps though.)
Members have good collections of British miniseries and some other genres. Series such as Tales of the Unexpected, Rumpole of the Bailey, Fawlty Towers, and Blackadder sit on my shelves next to The Forsyte Saga, Poldark, and I, Claudius. I also have some entries from Play of the Month and other items of interest. Members are encouraged to make viewing suggestions from their own collections as well. We have started a group database of our viewing assets that is visible to members. I would like to revive the previous tradition of home viewing parties or come up with a viable substitute.
