BKE #5: 2014 Kickoff and Brooklyn Brainstorm

The New Year is upon us and on the heels of our Holiday Party bash (pics here (https://www.meetup.com/BrooklynEntrepreneurs/photos/19149922/)) BKE is expecting a big and eventful 2014. So to kick things off properly, our first event is going to be a working session where we can all collaborate together to help build a strong BKE community for 2014. If you are interested in being a key member of our community then this is definitely the event to join us. This setup will be more personal and conversational than our previous affairs, but will also be typical BKE fun.

Our Keynote speaker will be Laurel Brown, Executive Director of Operations + Administration for Downtown Brooklyn Partnership (http://downtownbrooklyn.com/) (DBP) -- a nonprofit local development corporation in charge of the new Brooklyn tech triangle being developed.

The Downtown Brooklyn Partnership (http://downtownbrooklyn.com/) and its three affiliated business improvement districts overseeing a collective budget of $7.1 million, Laurel is charged with managing, activating, and beautifying 3 million sf of public space, implementing innovative "green tech" initiatives, steering capital investment projects, and overseeing the general financial and administrative needs of the four organizations.

The festivities begin at 7pm sharp, on Tuesday January 14th and will happen at Dumbo Startup Lab. We will have some free beer and as always some great handpicked attendees.
