Great news! Dallas has been chosen as Brother Hackathon location for our 2019 season. After a successful hackathon in Los Angeles, California in 2018, we have been seeking a great city for our 2019 event. Among 10 cities, Dallas is selected unanimously by our committee. This meetup group is set up to:
1. Find co-organizers, assistant organizers, event managers and volunteers
2. Each month we will hold at least 1 live event in Dallas, including workshop, showcase, seminars, and happy hours
3. Allow members to register the hackathon event with priority
Hackathon: From 6PM April 26th through 9PM April 27th (27 hours)
Workshops/Seminars: January (2 events), February (2 events), March (3-6 events), April (2 events)
The meetup group will officially launch in January 1, 2019. Accepting members now. 100% free, and will ALWAYS be free.
iOS and Android developers. UX/UI Designers. Web developers. A team can be a single member, or up to 3 members.
Hackathon, Workshop, Seminars, Showcases. Hackathon is to build an iOS or Android app that utilizes Brother International's mobile printers. One or more printers will be provided to each team for testing purpose. These printers are free to keep after completing the event.
All our events are 100% free, with free food, drinks, prizes, and everything. All meetups will be focused on the hackathon event. There is no commitment, just plenty of fun learning and competing among members/friends.
Venue to be determined (please contact me if you have a great venue that can accommodate 100-150 people)
We are the most developers friendly company! Unlike any other hackathons, we make sure that you can get your first sample project running in less than 2 hours. Then the sky is the limit, we want you to focus on your creativity. Not only you get to keep 100% of your project, we may even consider supporting your project via our international resources. Of course, you get to keep the Brother's professional mobile printer, and a great chance to win big prizes!
4. Spend an hour to build the sample iOS or Android app. Think of an app that can make the most of the Brother's professional printers. Design, prototype, and build the app as much as you can. Shoot a 3-minute video of your app and submit it to Youtube and provide the link at the competition. You must be present on both days April 26 and 27 to win.
Please message me if you wish to 1) assist in organizing the event, 2) participating in the hackathon.
