Cat B 14-16 mph Rehashing the ride to Rapha

Cat B 14-16 mph Rehashing the ride to Rapha

Details

Cat B 14-16 mph : approx 65 miles with 3000ft elevation, some notable!

The route combines a couple of old favourites. My first ever B ride as a leader was over to Brill to watch the Tour of Britain and even though it can be very busy I quite like the coffee at the Rapha store in Bicester, plus I like to opt for pretentious trendy alternatives to cake, just to wind our esteemed Cat Manager up!

There is a fair amount of relentless climbing on this route through Whitchurch, Oving and along the ridge from Waddeson then Chilton until we get to Brill; which is about half the miles but still well short of coffee. Dropping down for the last push to Bicester we have chance to recover.

For that reason this ride is not about speed but about pacing ourselves, looking out for each other and enjoying some areas where many of us don't often ride, for example when we pass the turn to Quainton that you may be familiar with we will only be about half way to our furthest west point.

After coffee we head back across the more modest Vale of Aylesbury and through Winslow climbing gradually back up to Milton Keynes. If weather conditions make it seem more sensible the route may change.
