Iva Pérez, an innovation strategist and service designer, approached us on the topic of data privacy after watching the documentary "The great Hack". She was concerned about how Cambridge Analytica had harvested the personal data of millions of peoples' Facebook profiles without their consent and used it for political advertising purposes.

Therefore we thought, why don't we do an event together? Inviting people from the legal, tech and design world to discuss data protection and privacy from all these angles. Discovering together ways to enhance our multidisciplinary collaboration and creating awareness for the respectful use of technology.

We will have 3 activities during this joint-meetup event:

1. Inspirational talks by
- Ruben Verborgh: A Computer scientist expert on semantic web technology, working on the Solid project >> https://solid.inrupt.com/
- Christel De Maeyer: Researcher in Personal Informatics, Quantified Self in Preventive Health Care at Do The Right Thing and expert on behavioral design
- Rossana Ducato: postdoctoral researcher at UCLouvain and Université Saint-Louis - Bruxelles, http://www.rosels.eu/research/research-project-iop/

2. Fishbowl - a dynamic open conversation

3. Manifesto
A quick exercise to suggest ideas to boost our collaboration (legal, tech & design) in order to create solutions with privacy by design.

For who?
Service and product designers, UX/UI designers, innovation strategists, lawyers, policymakers, technologists, academics and students. All nationalities, ages, and backgrounds are welcome.
