December meetup : a great send-off to 2017

Hello everybody,

I am really (really really) happy to announce our last meetup on 2017. From Twitter and Google and on their way to family Xmas celebrations we will have Andrei Savu (https://www.linkedin.com/in/sandrei/) and Bogdan Drutu (https://www.linkedin.com/in/bogdan-drutu-7909602a/) stopping by and - while fighting jet lag - bringing us news from the Valley and their views on data engineering. Their experience is extraordinary, I can't wait to have them in our meetup and see their presentations.

Data Engineering is a relatively new, but fast evolving discipline that spans multiple environments and technologies, from traditional data centers to hyper-scale cloud providers, a discipline that combines closed-source, homegrown and open source software to create scalable data pipelines and power incredible new product features. In this presentation, we will go over the last 5-10 years of technology trends and advancements and bring all of that together in a story about modern day Data Engineering and the magic behind it.

7:40 - 8:20 PM Stats and Tracing @Google, Bogdan Drutu (https://www.linkedin.com/in/bogdan-drutu-7909602a/)

Stats and Tracing are the key pieces in monitoring, alerting and debugging in any distributed system. In this presentation you will hear about what I've learned in the past 6 years at Google, what Google plans to release open-source in the near future and maybe some fun demos.
