November meetup: big data in aviation

Details
Hello everybody,
I am happy to announce our next meetup, on November 27th, with a new speaker, new company and for sure a new use case we never had before: big data in aviation (and how to build a self-service analytics platform at scale). Cedric's presentation will cover the use case, the architecture, the challenges encountered along the way and the solutions that fulfilled Airbus requirements and completed the architecture.
A big thanks to Cedric for joining us in Bucharest and taking time to present in our meetup.
Details of the agenda:
18:30 Getting together
19:00 - 19:45 Skywise – The data analytics platform for the aviation ecosystem, Cedric Cormont (https://www.linkedin.com/in/ccormont/) @ Airbus
In aviation, data used to be locked in silos for maintenance, flight management, aircraft monitoring and safety, and other critical workflows. At Airbus we have discovered the value of integrating disparate data sources. Airbus is the only player in the industry able to connect and enable the complete digital aviation ecosystem. During this presentation, we will detail the architecture/technical solutions chosen for our data analytics platform (AWS, Hortonworks, Palantir Foundry, Spark, Elasticsearch, Mulesoft, Splunk, Cassandra, Qlik, ...) and will focus on the main technical challenges.
19:45 - 20:00 Q&A - I expect loads of questions for this presentation thus we will allow a longer Q&A time than usual
20:00 - 21:00 Socializing, pizza & drinks sponsored by our steady sponsor Netopia.
Look forward seeing you soon,
Valentina
