This group is especially created for educators around the San Francisco Bay Area. As teachers, we spend most of our time and energy, year-round, planning and preparing our students for the future, inside and outside of the classroom. Most of us care very deeply about the outcome for not only our students’ academic education but even more importantly for their character development.
We want to make a difference in our students' lives. However, the world is now driven by competition placing more emphasis on outer success and achievement, sometimes even at the cost of morality and kindness towards others. Educators and students are facing more pressure to meet certain criteria, often losing inspiration, spiritual heart, and focus on living a happy and meaningful life. The opportunity to make a difference in the world is slipping through our fingers.
This meetup group enables us to contemplate our lives from a totally different angle than we usually do. Buddhism helps to wake us up from our normal and often numb routines, to see how fragile and important our lives are as humans. Buddhism can help us to see the big picture of how we have an impact on the outcomes and consequences of our own lives and on those of whom we teach. It allows us to discover our inner potential and to learn how to guide ourselves and others to live from our hearts with purpose. Furthermore, Buddhism trains our mind to have inner wisdom, stability, and peace, and to achieve greater realization in learning and understanding self, others, and the world around us. This deep understanding enables us to make a real difference in our own life and the lives of others.
All of our meetings are under the guidance and instruction of our Lama Namnang Mingjo Dorje Rinpoche, world renowned teacher of Manjushri Buddha Dharma Lineage Center.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions. We look forward to meeting you.

*For those who live outside of the San Francisco Bay Area: You can still connect to most of the meetup group public events, as well as our Dharma Center's private in-person events, by connecting to us via live video webcast. In addition, we have an online, world-wide contemplation teaching forum for students to learn together internationally. While we use technology to give everyone a chance to connect, we are also very personable and all supportive of each other. Please send a private message to learn more.
