Open Board Meeting and Picnic
All Buffalo Orienteering Club members are invited to attend the July board meeting at Chestnut Ridge Park. We will meet at Shelter #21, near the Newton Road entrance. Hot dogs and veggie burgers will be served at 6:30, with the meeting beginning at 7:00pm. Please bring a dish to share. There will not be an orienteering activity, just an opportunity to learn more about the Club and what it takes to keep it going. We are always looking for new ideas, new volunteers, and new perspectives!

    What we're about

Orienteering is a sport where the participant uses a topographic map and a compass to navigate to particular points. At those points are flags called controls. The goal is to find the controls in order along the orienteering course. Participants can be fast competitors who race from control to control or casual participants who walk from control to control. In both instances the sport requires both mental and physical skills. The Buffalo Orienteering Club hosts multiple events each year for people new to orienteering and veteran competitors. The club also provides instructional opportunities for anyone interested in learning how to do orienteering. We look forward to seeing you out on the trails.
