Topics Covered:

How JavaScript, HTML and CSS work together to allow us to build all modern web apps

The most important HTML features that let us display content including images/buttons/text/input fields and more

Utilize CSS to describing the presentation of your HTML elements, including colors, layout, and fonts

Learn how we utilize XHR, DOM manipulation, and external APIs to create feature rich dynamic web applications

Work through formattable challenges to solidify your knowledge on HTML, CSS, and Javascript

Things you need to know:

This workshop is designed for those with a basic knowledge of web development - you should have done some html, css or JavaScript, maybe even understand things like for loops and html elements, to get the most out of the day!

This is a 6-hour online only workshop at 9am PST/ 12pm EST. We will be using an immersive learning environment, so be sure your internet connection is stable to get the best experience! Login info will be sent out closer to the event.

Optionally join us the following Monday, 9/17 to present your completed web applications

About your instructors:

Will Sentence is the co-founder and CEO of Codesmith, an elite software engineering immersive located in NY and LA. He is also a prominent instructor with Frontend Masters. Before Codesmith, Will was CEO at Ownly and a Software Engineer at Gem.

Phillip Troutman is the lead engineer at Codesmith New York, building cutting-edge curriculum and teaching Codesmith residents critical programming concepts, such as React.js & GraphQL. He is known as an authority on React, speaking at many notable JavaScript meet ups in Los Angeles & New York.
