Getting Acquainted with GraphQL w/ Eve Porcello from Moon Highway: Partner Event

We’re excited to welcome Eve Porcello, Software Engineer & Instructor at Moon Highway to Codesmith for this month’s WiSE to talk about GraphQL.

We created the Women in Software Engineering (WiSE) Speaker Series to highlight the accomplishments of successful women engineers, and to connect women aspiring to be software engineers to mentors and peers. These events occur each month and are open to all.

Speaker - Eve Porcello, Software Engineer & Instructor at Moon Highway

Abstract - It’s 2019 - time to learn about GraphQL! In this hands-on presentation, Eve Porcello will provide an intro to GraphQL: the history, why you might use it, and how to use the GraphQL query language. Then we’ll work together to build our own schema and a GraphQL server using Apollo Server. Feel free to bring a computer to follow along with the code in this hands-on event.

Speaker Bio - Eve Porcello is a software engineer and instructor at Moon Highway. She is a frequent workshop instructor and speaker, creates video content for egghead.io and LinkedIn Learning, and is the co-author of O’Reilly’s Learning GraphQL and Learning React.
