What we're about

This Meetup Run is sponsored by MEC Burlington. It is free to join and you can show up at any of our meetups. We have weekly road runs, a meetup to work on specific skill sets as well as trail runs.

We will always run at different paces so this group is geared towards beginners to advanced runners.

The Burly Trail Runners-Thursday Night Meetup

Needs a location

This in not a MEC affiliated Meet-up, but rather a community volunteer lead run that is granted calendar space on MEC Burlington’s Meet-up page. MEC Burlington takes no ownership or responsibility of this group and does not endorse the run in anyway. We only support the run through use of this page to arrange a meet-up location. These evening runs range from 6km up to 10km depending on the route and hours of sunlight. Trail runs are at a slower pace and by their nature take more time. Runners are expected to be able to run 5km on road comfortably. These are self-supported runs and a route will be given out at the beginning of the run. Most runs will begin within the Burlington area, including City View Park, Hidden Valley Park, Bronte Park, Lowville Park, Lions Valley or Borers Falls Dog Park (RBG).

MEC Run Crew: Saturday Morning Trail Run

Churchill Park

All runners will meet up for 8:25am to sign-in before we head out for a 90-minute run. Each run will have two leaders to accommodate a variety of paces. We typically run 8-10kms, depending on the terrain and conditions, with a few breaks along the way to keep the group together and perhaps take a picture or two. We will be meeting at different locations every Saturday from 8:30am – 10:00am. The locations will have free access to the Bruce trail with a lot of link up trails and free parking! We post Saturday's trail run location mid-week. We will meet at the POSTED location and not the store! We run at an easy pace and walk or meet at the top of most hills, so runners of all levels are welcome. If you haven't run trails before, this is a perfect introduction! The run will last approximately 90 mins depending on the group that shows up. If for whatever reason you are unable to complete the run, please let one of the group leaders know and we will make sure you get back to the parking lot safely. Most runs are out and back routes for an easy return. Come enjoy a great run with fun people in a beautiful setting. Remember that we will be running year round in all types of weather so dress accordingly.
