Founding Bloomsbury Publishing: The Inside Story
Let's hear from the founders of Bloomsbury Publishing! Step inside Bloomsbury Publishing as they reveal the origins of a publishing company. Hear them go all the way back to the beginning with three of the four original members of Bloomsbury Publishing to learn how it all began and discover what aspiring publishers today could learn from their experiences (if anything!). I'm delighted to pass on the invitation to an evening at Bloomsbury with Nigel Newton, David Reynolds and Liz Calder as they talk about those earliest days at Bloomsbury, the highest highs to the deepest lows and back again, with Daily Telegraph columnist and Bloomsbury author, Mick Brown, who was there at the beginning too. Founded in 1986, Bloomsbury is now a thriving independent publishing house which publishes 2,500 titles annually and is the home of some of the world’s most exciting authors, acclaimed digital resources and the best academic writing. It has nearly 700 staff, annual sales of £163 million and offices in London, New York, Oxford, Haywards Heath, Sydney and New Delhi. https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/founding-bloomsbury-publishing-the-inside-story-tickets-49848366807 I propose that we go as a group so we can encourage each other where needed, provide support and company, and so we have some familiar faces in the crowd in what promises to be a fascinating evening. We'll all buy our tickets separately through the Eventbrite link. When you have bought your ticket, comment below. Standard tickets are £25 inc. VAT. OUR SPECIAL DISCOUNT tickets are £20 inc. VAT.
