I have been thinking about starting a Windows Developers group for the area for Windows Phone and Windows 8 developers. The point would be to suppose each other in the development of apps, but also to pool resources and talent. If anyone is interested let me know. I will probably kick it off by inviting a Nokia Ambassador to visit and show off some of the devices capabilities. If anyone is interested email me at [masked]

Tim-- There is a huge Microsoft Developers group locally. They meet at Microsoft in Farmington and have access to lots of Microsoft resources. http://www.ctdotnet.o...

Great overview of the Microsoft mobile environment, with good examples of the UX on the phone and reassuring news about enthusiasm in the developer community and open access to Visual Studio Express. Obviously, there is a ton more to know for those who want to be effective in this environment. The good news is that it easier to make an impact in the smaller development community. The bad news is that you're inherently committed to a smaller market.

Wish I could have been there. I was planning on it but a client emergency took priority!

Hi Tim. I am a windows developer who is venturing into the WP realm and I am curious how you approach UI design and what roadblocks in WP7 and WP8 you have run into and any advice using the new WP 8 API's.

Just a quick poll of the group - what are you most hoping to get or learn from this event? I will adjust it to make sure I cover what people want to hear.
