Hop Hoodening Celebrations

Details

Every year, the new hop harvest is blessed at Canterbury Cathedral in a wonderful service at 11am, with morris dancing during the service. Then lots of morris dancers perform in the cathedral precincts at 1145 (with a chance to sample Canterbury Cathedral Ale). Then there's dancing throughout the city centre. See https://wantsum-morris.org.uk/hop-hoodening/schedule/ for full details. I suggest we meet up at a pub of two to watch the spectacle. The Bell & Crown might be a good base at 1215 for a pint before watching the Central Heartlands morris at 1305 at the junction of Orange Street and Sun Street (see the map on the website above).
Then a pint at the Foundry at 1400 before watching the procession starting at 1445 up the high street from Best Lane to Rose Square.
