A Look at Jesus & Women through Middle Eastern Eyes

The cultural norms of the Middle East can inform our understanding of Jesus's interactions with the women he met and the women he depicted in parables. For the next several meetups, we will look at Part 5 of Kenneth E. Bailey's "Jesus Through Middle Eastern Eyes" (IVP Academic, 2008).

Today, we'll focus on Chapter 14, Bailey's introduction to this topic. We will look at the status of women in first-century Palestine, how Jesus included women in his band of disciples, and how he deliberately shaped his message to include them.
