This month we will be celebrating Black History Month and the Annual Day of Solidarity with Black Nonbelievers with a meet and greet at The Wisdom Bar located at 1432 Pennsylvania avenue, s. e. The Wisdom Bar is located about one half block from the Potomac Avenue Metro Station ( https://www.dcwisdom.com/ ) This will be a great opportunity to get to know other members - especially for those of you who cannot make the Saturday meetings. All AAH meetings are free and open to the public. I recently got an email from a self-described Republican Atheist. He was responding to a book by CJ Werleman that we discussed “Atheists can’t be Republicans”. He referred me to an article at www.patheos.com/blogs/friendlyatheist/2014/06/16/yes-there-are-republican-atheists-out-there-heres-why-im-one-of-them See what you think about his position. I look forward to seeing you on February 25th. African Americans for Humanism-DC is sponsored by the Center for Inquiry-DC. What we're about

Public Group

The Center for Inquiry–DC (CFI–DC) offers an opportunity to put your principles into practice by joining other rationalists to work for positive change in society. In addition, the D.C. Center sponsors social events for freethinkers as well as intellectual programming.

CFI provides an ethical alternative to religious and paranormal worldviews. In this time of rising religiosity, anti-intellectualism and political turmoil on ethical issues, it is critical that rationalists and freethinkers join together to promote and defend science, reason, and secular values.

CFI–DC is the Washington, D.C. region's source for information and social activities serving atheists, agnostics, secular humanists, skeptics, and freethinkers of all ages and backgrounds. We hope you can identify with our goals and find a home at our Center!

Learn more about CFI–DC at www.centerforinquiry.net/dc and our parent institution, the Center for Inquiry, at www.centerforinquiry.net.

All events are crosslisted with our main web page, Convio, Facebook, and other sites, so RSVPs on this site constitute a minority of RSVPs .
