Cafe Inquiry

Cafe Inquiry is our monthly casual get-together to meet people and discuss topics of science and humanism.

--------------------

This month's discussion topic: Bullying

• Why is there so much attention to bullying of late?

• Is there more or less bullying in recent years, or the same as previously?

• What does bullying say about our society? Other societies?

• Do secular humanist/atheist people exhibit less, more, or the same kinds of bullying  behavior than other segments of society?

• Do secular humanist/atheist people have anything unique to add to the national conversation about bullying?

• Is bullying universal?

• Is bullying part of “human nature”?

• Why do people become bullies?

• Are there better/worse ways of handling bullying?

• Are kids more suicidal in response to bullying than previously?

• Does attention to bullying have to do with increasing acceptance of gay people?

• Does the internet exacerbate bullying or simply provide a new outlet for an age-old behavior?

--------------------

No outside food or drink allowed. Free and open to the public.

We are also planning to go out for food and/or drinks afterwards. Free and open to the public.

You are in competition with the SOTU address. And I wouldn't want to miss that evening of THEATER.
