Save the Date! CIA-Plus Community Meeting - Defining the Cloud Broker Model!

Details

We would like to extend an invitation to you to attend a Community Meetup on Defining the Cloud Broker Model, which we are hosting at Toronto City Hall in downtown Toronto on October 26th at 6pm.

The industry shift away from traditional on-premise-only IT operations is well underway. Most organizations today are looking to build hybrid environments which combine on-premise systems and as-a-Service offerings, and/or to migrate from physical solutions to agile cloud alternatives.

To navigate this shift, buy-side firms need suppliers who can provide advice on technology-enabled business options. They need firms that have moved beyond ‘trusted advisor’ to ‘partner in developing strategy and roadmaps that fit the business’s needs’. They need support in data integration, and in connecting and securing systems that reside in different physical locations, governed by different administrators and policies.

They need Cloud Service Brokers (CSBs).

But despite this widespread need, the traditional service provider (SP) community faces many challenges in building CSB practices. The CSB model affects how management directs and measures the business, how sales sells and compensates, marketing’s scope and activity priorities, the technical competencies needed for deployment, delivery and support, and critically, the CFO’s approach to cash management. This is a wrenching change for the thousands of suppliers who provide IT operations services to Canada’s business community.

At this meetup, key members of the Toronto Cloud Business Coalition will discuss the ‘hows’, ‘whys’, and ‘whats’ of the CSB model. Attendees will have an opportunity to network with leading experts from the CSB, cloud supplier and consulting communities. Each attendee will also receive a digital copy of the new “Defining the Cloud Broker Model” report from the Toronto Cloud Business Coalition (publication date: October 2017). This report includes input from TCBC members drawn from Cisco, PwC, Avaya, Unity Connected Solutions, ProServeIT, CloudFX, NEC, NewPath Consulting, Contract Capital Inc., TeraGo, RSA and other organizations.

Please join us for a ‘deep dive’ into a topic that is critical to IT buyers, sellers and SPs across the Canadian business community! The session will start with an opening spotlight presentation, followed by a great expert panel featuring Matt Ambrose of PwC (https://www.linkedin.com/in/matt-ambrose-a0b259a/), Eric Sugar of ProServeIT (https://www.linkedin.com/in/sugareric/), Brian Ochab of Unity Connected Solutions (https://www.linkedin.com/in/brian-ochab-14a4886/) and Howard Bishansky of CenturyLink (https://www.linkedin.com/in/howardbishansky/). Immediately following the panel discussion, there will be an opportunity to network with your fellow attendees.
