Howdy Yall!

Sun Microsystems has been kind enough to host Jay Pipes for a second presentation on the Art of SQL. If you are using MySQL on your back end at all, this is going to be a VERY good meetup to be at. The details follow below from Scott's original post on the MySQL meetup. This will be a join meetup with our meetup.

In order to help us plan better please RSVP, even if you are not going.

I hope to see yall there! (We will head out after to an Irish Pub across the way for Guinness..of course.)

Original Post:

Hi All,

This month, Jay Pipes will be presenting Part II of his 'Join-Fu - The Art of SQL' discussion. Jay will begin the evening with a brief review of Part I for those who may have missed the first session.

Join-Fu is the art of understanding your application's SQL. Join Jay in a fun, irreverent look at the common ways application developers misuse and abuse their database.

Bio:
Jay Pipes is the North American Community Relations Manager at MySQL. Co-author of Pro MySQL (Apress, 2005), Jay has also written articles for Linux Magazine and regularly assists software developers in identifying how to make the most effective use of MySQL. He has given sessions on performance tuning at the MySQL Users Conference, RedHat Summit, NY PHP Conference, ZendCon, php-tek, OSCON, and Ohio LinuxFest, amongst others. He lives in Columbus, Ohio, with his wife, Julie, and his four animals. In his abundant free time, when not being pestered by his two needy cats and two noisy dogs, he daydreams in PHP code and ponders the ramifications of __clone().

Date: December 17th
Time: 6:00PM
Location: 3 Summit Park Drive, Auditorium (Lower Level)
Independence, OH 44131

Hope to see you there!
