Re: [mysql-292] December MySQL Meetup

Don't cancel. On the Web Meetup we have 17 YES RSVPs. So combine those with everyone on your meetup but me (since I am RSVPed on both) and that's how many people have RSVPed. That's a pretty good number.

Just a reminder for those on my group, if you want to attend, I need you to register as soon as you can. We've a lot of folks coming. Even though we have an auditorium, last minute RSVPs could cause us some grief as we scramble to crowd everyone in.

Again Jay Pipes is DEFINITELY someone you want to see. I've read his works in the past (he is published online and in books) and I've seen him speak. If you are interested in MySQL, in getting mysql certified, using MySQL for your website, I strongly suggest that you be there on Next Weds (Dec 17th). It is rare that we get sponsorship of this caliber. The more presence we provide the greater incentive for SUN and other companies to support us in the future with notable speakers.

Kind Regards,
Joseph James Frantz

OK everyone, if you plan to attend please register ASAP. Once again, if we don't get enough 'Yes' responses I will cancel (as the speaker is traveling from Columbus).

If you're at all interested in web-facing app development or MySQL specifically, it will be worth the effort to attend. Jay is a great speaker and knows MySQL from the inside out. In addition, we will review recently released MySQL 5.1 and discuss it's new features and functionality.

We will provide food and drinks, plus a sponsor (Dewpoint) has stepped up to host the event so we will also have prizes/giveaways!! What more could you ask for ... smile
