REMINDER: Citizens Climate Lobby (CCL) REGIONAL Meeting!

Details
For our last Regional meeting of 2016, we'll be using
1-2:00 to telling stories from:
a) Ottawa lobbying and b) Riding Group sharing - led by the Riding Leader.
Goal for the Regional Meetings is connection and fun ... that pp feel that they are part of something bigger ... the ENERGY of how big and important our work is... that we hear of each others work/successes/breakthroughs.
The holiday party location is a real cozy environment - complete with couches :)
Feel free to invite potential new members, or just your friends who would love to see you in our element/that happy "I take action and make a difference" CCL'er that you are!
DETAILS:
If you can't get through the main doors at 215 Spadina Ave, go through the Darkhorse Cafe into the lobby area and then call myself or someone else who's phone number you have to let you in. (The elevator to the 4th floor won't work unless you have someone with a pass card to let you in.)
If you can/wish - bring food and drinks. There will be coffee and tea there. There's a kitchen with dishes, toaster oven, fridge and all the plates, glasses, cutlery we could possibly want - so there's no need to bring anything but the container of food.
- There's always more than enough food so if you don't have the time to buy or prepare something that's perfectly OK. We just want you to be there!!!
TTC Directions - Via subway, go to Spadina station and take any street car. Get off at the "Sullivan" stop. The building is on the east side of Spadina (between Dundas & Queen Streets).
Note: Queen street west of Spadina has construction so there's a detour that requires extra time on your commute but the streetcar will still get you to Spadina.
Parking - not so easy, look for a side-street close by.
Sorry West & North Toronto - yet another downtown location, but it's hard to find space in the midst of holiday party season and this place is free with no food/drink minimum purchase! If you holiday gift shop, maybe make a shopping trip out of the day?
Guests are welcome and if you want to skip the meeting portion between 1-2 pm - that's A-OK.
Hope to see you there!

If YOU live in York Centre, Willowdale, Don Valley North, Don Valley East, Don Valley West and Eglinton Lawrence, plus nearby ridings to the north of us including Thornhill, Richmond Hill, and Markham..do JOIN US!
After operating for about five years as a single group, the CCL Toronto group (aka chapter) has decided to split into four chapters to make it easier to get to meetings and to leverage our attentions on our local ridings with the respective representatives, media and communities.
For the time being our group will include all volunteers in the following federal ridings:
York Centre, Willowdale, Don Valley North, Don Valley East, Don Valley West and Eglinton Lawrence, plus nearby ridings to the north of us including Thornhill, Richmond Hill, and Markham. As sufficient critical mass of volunteers join CCL, the groups will become more locally based.
Note that starting in 2016, the usual monthly meeting time has moved from the first to the second Saturday of the month. Please update your calendars.
For our February meeting location, thanks to the kindness of this congregation, is at Cummer Avenue United Church. I am very excited to have a location just ten minutes walk from Finch TTC subway station, which is also a terminus for other regional transit. See their website for directions.
http://cummeravenueuc.ca/contact/directions
Parking is available immediately west of the church building in the parking building. Please follow the instruction signs regarding using spots for church use, (i.e. not tenant or reserved spaces).
Access to the building is via the south-most door on the west side of the building (nearest the driveway). It is up a few steps to a north-facing door. There will be signs!
There will be an agenda but the overview is
12:45 pm - Gathering & Intros
1:00 pm Listening to the CCL International Conference Call with a guest speaker and some organization highlights like the upcoming annual International Confernce in Washington, DC in June.
2:00 pm Local riding MP meetings and Actions
3:30 pm Post meeting social & networking in a local establishment (optional)
Please join us as we urgently need to put good Carbon Pricing into the upcoming federal budget.
