• What we'll do!! Get pumped and go for a run with CRUNCH and Park Run Hagley and then afterwards meet up at the same spot and if interested go for refreshments at Ilex. Meet at 7:45am on the grass between the Botanical Gardens' car park and Victoria Lake just east (towards Columbo Street) of the toilet block. https://goo.gl/SbmgVS https://goo.gl/KYFpZt For new comers to recognize the CRUNCH crew amongst the hundreds of milling hordes of regular park runners look for me. I am man with a beard and I will be standing close to the road from 7:45 until 7:55. I will be wearing black knee length shorts and a red polar fleece top. I answer to Geoff or Geoffrey and I will try to manage introductions gracefully. https://goo.gl/1XY4UK • What is it? PARK RUN HAGLEY With a great atmosphere Park Run Hagley is a free, weekly, and for every one, 5km timed run starting at 8:00am on Saturdays in North Hagley Park organized by the Park Run organization and usually attracting well over a hundred runners of all abilities. CRUNCH CRUNCH is (C)ome (RU)n i(N) (CH)ristchurch; a loose collection of road warriors, hill junkies, trail enthusiasts, newbies, one timers, improvers, and plodders organized around the Meetup website. We will never be global but we are a causal running club of Christchurch and we want to meet you and run with you. CRUNCH hosts a number of regular runs throughout the week. Check us out on the meetup website and come along to one of our runs. PARK RUN HAGLEY WITH CRUNCH. This is not a group run. This is a timed run where you will run at your own pace over a measured course in a race or event like atmosphere surrounded by other runners of all abilities all running at there own pace against the clock. This is not to say that Park Run Hagley CRUNCH runners will never run as a group. Just don't expect a group run if this is your first time with us. Run the 5km in record time or in any time and we will be there to support you before and after in either case. Also it is about the coffee and muffins afterwards. • Extra information; • The run starts at 8:00am and this is not organized by CRUNCH so there will be no waiting at the start for late comers. • There is plenty of free parking available in the Botanical Gardens' car park but the road in is narrow and Park Run Hagley regularly attracts over 100 participants so expect it to be hectic. Give yourself plenty of time to negotiate the madness if you are planing on coming by car. • Park Run Hagley encourages participants to register and while not necessary if you want to receive a time for your run you must register with Park Run. You can do so here; http://www.parkrun.co.nz/register/ General information about Park Run Hagley can be found here; http://www.parkrun.co.nz/hagley/ and course information here; http://www.parkrun.co.nz/hagley/course/ Information about the overall Park Run organization can be found in the following links; http://www.parkrun.com/ http://www.parkrun.com/about/ http://www.parkrun.com/about/our-story/
Fancy an easy, sociable lunchtime run in Hagley? Good for runners who work in town - or anyone else who's available. We're a mixed bunch of speedy types and shufflers (me) so there's a bit of something for everyone :) Latecomers get 5 mins grace - if we're expecting you, we'll wait until 12.35 and then we go :) Post a comment to let us know. See you for a CRunCH in the park soon!
Starting from Redcliffs we will do different +-5km runs every Tuesday and Thursday afternoons at 17:30. Will change the routes to include some scenic routes around the hills. Start from 19 Taupata Street, Redcliffs with ample parking
Birmingham Drive entrance to Marylands Reserve, just east of Canterbury Canine Obedience Club, CHC
• What we'll do This is a social lunchtime run, and the emphasis is on running in a way that suits the people who are there on the day. The loop is about 8 km around the A&P Showgrounds, which should take us under 50 minutes at a 5:30 / km pace. Most of the route is on grass or dirt / gravel tracks, with some bits of asphalt in between. We are starting in an industrial area, but this is a refreshingly green and scenic run, partially following a creek framed by old willow trees, and often sheep are quietly grazing on the paddocks. Depending on the number of people, and your expectations, we can also split up into a faster and slower group. Also, if there is any interest from people new to running, please let me know via PM, and we can look at getting you started with a shorter distance and slower pace as needed. • What to bring Bring what you need to run. There is almost no shade on this route - so sun protection is strongly recommended. • Important to know If you want to participate, RSVP, and if you find you can't make it, please clear your RSVP, so that we are not unnecessarily waiting.
