Open Source Innovations in Hadoop and the Cloud

Yet another meetup with our friends from Hortonworks. This time we will host a session with Gergely Devenyi (Managing Director), who is a long-time data warehousing and business intelligence veteran with extensive experience managing engineering teams, and Peter Erdos (Cloudbreak R&D) - a software developer specializing in solving complex cloud deployment problems lately.

Abstract:

Hortonworks help the customers solve big data problems with the Hadoop ecosystem with 100% Open Source software. In this talk, the speakers are gonna expand on three topics:

a/ The Apache Way at Hortonworks - how do they align to the ASF meritocracy

b/ Maintenance and support challenges of deploying Hadoop in enterprise production environments

c/ Initaitive in facilitating & automating Hadoop deployment into commercial and private clouds

Also, Gergely and Peter will elaborate on the recent development in security issues.
