Rancho San Antonio Open Space Preserve, Los Altos, CA
A fun group of people who meet every Tuesday morning at Rancho San Antonio in Cupertino (off Hwy 280 & 85) for an early morning networking hike. It’s a terrific way to keep fit and meet interesting people at the same time. This is a particularly good group for people who may be in career transition mode because of the group’s philosophy of mutual support, the power of networking and a group hike! We are finished by 8:30 am, (finished by 8:00 during daylight savings time), so you can get on with your day and feel fantastic because you have had a great workout. We hope you can join us soon!

DATE: Every Tuesday Morning
TOTAL LENGTH: 4.6 miles
ELEVATION GAIN: 560 feet
START TIME: 7:00 AM
HEAD OUT TIME: 7:05 AM
FINISH TIME: 8:30 AM
DIFFICULTY: Moderate

Please consider your physical condition and make sure you are able to handle difficult-level hike of this length and altitude gain.

Route Description:

Starting from parking lot 6, across from the bathrooms nearby the bike repair station, follow the Meadow Lower Trail
Continue on Meadow Lower Trail and turn right on the Service Rd towards the Farm.
After the Farm, turn Left onto Wild Cat Canyon Trail.
Sharp right onto High Meadow Trail to top of the hill.
At the junction of High Meadow and Wild Cat Trail, turn left to the vista point.
10 minutes break.
Return to the High Meadow and Wild Cat Loop Trail.
Veer slightly right to head down the Wild Cat Loop Trail.
At the bottom of the hill, turn right onto Rogue Valley Trail.
Continue on Meadow Lower Trail to starting point.

How often has an imposter monster snuck up on your shoulder and told you, “You’re not good enough; everyone is smarter and more experienced than you.”? What is it about that imp that rewrites your story and convinces you that you don’t belong in the room? This session introduces some Emotionally Intelligent action-based tools that will enable you to knock that imposter monster off your shoulder and show up as the capable person you are.
Speaker’s Bio:
Susan Schwartz, PMP MS is President and lead consultant at the River Birch Group. Susan’s international executive experience drives her passion to assure technically expert professionals succeed as they transition into management and leadership positions. Having been a technical expert who became a global leader, she has experienced many of the same hurdles that today’s aspiring leaders face and is able to empower them with the confidence and necessary skills to succeed as they take on unfamiliar roles and responsibilities. Markell Morris is the owner of Futures In Motion, Inc. and adjunct faculty at Santa Monica College, Cypress College and Vanguard University where she teaches undergraduate and graduate level career development classes.

She holds several professional counseling certifications including National Certified Counselor (NCC), Board Certified TeleMental Health Provider (BC-TMH), MBTI and Strong Interest Inventory certifications. She received her MA in Counseling from the University of San Diego and a BA in Sociology from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

She helps her clients navigate the job market whether they are seeking career advancement, re-entering the job market or realigning their career after facing life altering circumstances. Based on her personal experience as a young widow and brain tumor survivor, Markell is an expert in navigating a career after loss. She understands the dynamics of rebuilding a career, reestablishing a sense of identity, and finding purpose.

She has expertise as a frequent speaker on career- related topics that educate, inspire and empower career changers to shift their focus from obstacles to opportunities. Her books Fast Track Your Career (2nd Edition) and Create a Career You Love: 5 Steps to Define Your Next Career Move guide people step-by-step through how to decide a career direction and position themselves for a career that sparks joy. She has also designed career development classes for colleges, universities and organizations.
