What we're about

This group is for anyone interested in cyber security and application security. The goal of the group is to bring together information security professionals in the CT area to discuss industry news, trends and provide a forum for information sharing and vendor-neutral, independent view of methodologies, tools, and techniques. We represent the Hartford chapter of the Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) organization.

• We frequently have industry speakers come in to share their research and frameworks.

• We partner with area universities to provide awareness of computer security as a career path.

• We provide mentorship/mentee support to current and aspiring security professionals

The Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) is a 501(c)(3) (https://www.irs.gov/charities-non-profits/charitable-organizations/exemption-requirements-section-501c3-organizations) worldwide not-for-profit charitable organization focused on improving the security of software. OWASP is in a unique position to provide impartial, practical information about AppSec to individuals, corporations, universities, government agencies and other organizations worldwide.
