📖 Talk description:
I have had a very diverse and seeming random career path, including working on a prawn trawler, delivering marketing automation platforms, establishing an oyster farm, agile coaching, managing a restaurant, professional photography, captaining charter boats, and building web platforms. On the surface these may only seem pretty unrelated, but with the power of abstraction, they are much more related than you might think. In this talk, you will learn takeaway ideas to abstract concepts from one area of expertise to another, thus accelerating learning and continuous improvement.
🔊 Speaker bio:
Will McNelis is an Agile and Lean professional with more than 20 years of diverse expertise in the areas of enterprise coaching, delivery management, business management, communications, marketing, user experience, web design and development, e-Commerce, and strategy. He has worked across sectors such as finance, FMCG, travel and leisure, entertainment, consulting, and real estate.
Will is currently an Enterprise Agile Coach at the Department of Human Services, and prior to that was at Tabcorp as the Senior Manager Delivery Practices, leading a team of delivery coaches, DevOps strategists, and quality management team. Previously, he was coaching agile and Lean teams in areas such as Infrastructure Delivery, Operations and Support, Marketing, and Software Delivery.
