Hosted by CTOs in London
Details
Hi everyone,
We have a number of great events planned already for this year and I'm pleased to announce our first event of 2019. Food, refreshments and venue kindly provided this time by our hosts, Lendinvest.
Address: Two Fitzroy Place, 8 Mortimer Street, London W1T 3JJ
About our hosts: LendInvest is the UK’s leading marketplace platform for property lending and investing, and one of the UK’s largest non-bank mortgage lenders.
We lend specialist finance to professional property investors and developers in the UK, and make it possible for all sorts of investors - from individuals to multinational financial institutions - to invest in the loans we originate. To date our investors have invested £1 billion in loans, helping to bring c.4,000 new or improved homes into the UK market.
The talks:
Talk 1: Creating an Open Banking Startup - Luca Martinetti, CoFounder & CTO @ TrueLayer.
At TrueLayer, we build universal APIs that allow companies to securely and efficiently access their customers’ bank accounts to share financial data, make payments and validate their identity. This enables companies to capitalise on new Open Banking initiatives by providing secure, clear and simple access to banking infrastructure. Using TrueLayer, developers can quickly meet security requirements, comply with their regulatory obligations, and gain access to data and payments, allowing them to focus their resources on developing innovative products and services).
Talk 2: Matt Mankins - Director of Engineering @ Condé Nast.
Matt is a researcher and entrepreneur with degrees from the MIT Media Laboratory and the University of Miami. He works to understand the impact of digital technologies on "slow-change" systems, such as the growth of cities or the economics of creativity.
Currently he is Director of Engineering for Condé Nast where he heads the monetisation squad that builds the company's paywalls and optimises its display advertising technologies. Previously he was CEO of Fair Tread, a startup monetising online content through direct consumer payments instead of advertising. Prior to Fair Tread, he served as the CTO of Fast Company magazine where he oversaw digital development and was instrumental in the creation of the Fast CoLabs Target Innovation Accelerator. Mankins innovation accolades include being an early creator of webmail, patents in location-based advertising, and the Boston Phoenix’'s award for “Best Bookstore Trying to Save the World" [from his ownership of the Lorem Ipsum Bookstore in Cambridge, Massachusetts].
As always, numbers are limited and it's first come / first served for all of our members, so please do RSVP on our meetup page ASAP if you wish to reserve your place. Guests welcome.
We look forward to seeing you all, do feel free to get in touch with myself if you have any questions about this or future events.
Cheers,
Matt
