Tacoma Sailboat Racing Crew- Corinthian Yacht Club of Tacoma

Join us for a fun and social sailboat racing event on Commencement Bay in Tacoma. Whether you're an experienced sailor or simply interested in the thrill of sailboat racing, this event is perfect for you. Meet other sailing enthusiasts from Tacoma and enjoy an evening sailing and socializing as you compete in friendly sailboat races while experiencing the beauty of the Salish Sea.

These are hosted by the Corinthian Yacht Club of Tacoma (CYCT), and occur every Wednesday From April 8 through the end of August. RSVP to the races you are available for.

Once you RSVP to a race event, your information will be provided to the owners/skippers who are participating in that week's race. The sailboat owners/skippers looking for crew will then contact you about where you can meet them. Once you have connected with a skipper and gone out for a race, you can discuss with the skipper about continuing to go out on that boat for upcoming races.

RSVP ONLY if you need to be assigned to a boat. If you are already assigned to a boat, know which boat/skipper you are going out with, or are already going out on a boat this summer, don't continue to RSVP so we don't try and find you another boat. Make sure your contact info, including phone number, is up to date.

CYCT Crew Membership is a great way to meet more local skippers and sailors, which can provide additional opportunities for hands on experience and mentoring. Safety - Participating in CYCT sailboat racing is voluntary and is done at your own risk. CYCT takes the crew safety very seriously. Compliance current with Federal, State, and local safety rules and regulations is required by the club. However it is the responsibility of the boat owner/skipper to ensure everyone on their crew complies with these regulations and the crew is kept safe while they are out on the water while participating in CYCT races. If you have any safety related questions or concerns please ask your skipper before you leave the dock or as soon as the question comes up. Remember, you have the final call deciding what you feel safe doing.
