Curious about Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs), their safety, and the science behind them? Come watch this 92 minute documentary narrated by Neil deGrasse Tyson.

Director Scott Hamilton Kennedy states:
While on first glance I can see why some people might call FOOD EVOLUTION a “pro-GMO” film, if you look a bit deeper, the GMO controversy is a metaphor for the importance of using the scientific method to make informed decisions. If all of us—from parents to politicians—fail to use science and data to help us curb our biases and get outside of our bubbles, then, to quote Mark Lynas from the film, “It’s just an amorphous blob of competing world views.”

We will take a straw poll before the screening to get a sense of your views and attitude about GMOs, and then after the end, conduct a discussion following suggestions in guides provided to us with the film.
