COVID-19 UPDATE FROM DR. PAT
May 21, 2020
Hello Friends! Because of the fast-moving changes happening as Alberta begins to open up again, I wanted to let you know where we stand as of today.
You may have heard that the Province is now allowing places of worship to gather with fewer than 50 people, following some fairly strict guidelines, which include:
1. Maintaining physical/social distancing of 2 metres/6 feet between people.
2. No physical contact (hugs, shaking hands).
3. Infants and children should remain with their parents or guardians at all times. (No Funday).
4. Entries must be one way in and one way out.
5. Frequent cleaning of high traffic areas.
6. No rentals.
7. No coffee/food.
8. No group singing.
9. If there is a soloist, no one over the age of 65 or with chronic conditions.
While some of the guidelines are doable, some (like no signing) are contrary to what our spiritual community is all about. Could you imagine a Sunday Celebration without Amy and Oliver's music?
In addition, we have yet to come up with a system for determining which 50 people (actually 40 because of staff who would need to be there, ie. band, tech people, practitioner, me...)
So, for the time being, we will continue to hold our Sunday Celebration via live-stream, with the same quality and care we have maintained throughout all of this.
Like you, I am disappointed we won't be together sooner. That said, when we are finally able to be together as a full community once again, it will be oh-so-sweet!
I love you and miss you all!
