Elevation Gain: 200 m (Calgary tower is 191m)

Difficulty: Moderate

Skill level: A decent level of fitness is required to do this outing. Our pace is moderate to fast, so ensure that you are confident in your abilities to keep up with the group.

PLEASE NOTE: It is your responsibility to make sure that you have acquired all of the necessary equipment, clothing and food for this trip. All outdoor activities involve a certain degree of risk, so it is up to you to be prepared, resilient, self-reliant, responsible, cautious and aware of surrounding hazards. As well, mountain weather can be unpredicatable, so be prepared for unforeseen changes. For safety reasons, if you show up for this event unprepared or with inappropriate clothing and/or gear you may not be permitted to continue on the trip.

Weather Conditions:

Driving/Carpooling: The trip starts at the trailhead, but as a convenience to the members, we will carpool in the designated city location

Please reimburse some gas $$ to your drivers.

Mandatory Gear: Backpack (40+ litres with chest and waist straps), light sleeping bag, waterproof hiking boots, trekking poles, waterproof shell layers, 2 changes of clothes, food and snacks, 2 litres of water, headlamp, sunglasses, sunscreen, first aid kit (minimum blister and wound care kits).

Optional Gear: Hat, small daypack (20L or less) for day trips, bathing suit, camera, map and compass, GPS, bug spray, fire starter, bear spray, bear bells, drysacks, board games, deck of cards, camping pillow, ear plugs (cannot gaurantee there won't be snoring).

•Do not wear the following: Jeans, casual shoes (including sneakers/trainers, work boots), cotton layers, small running packs. These are not appropriate footwear for hiking in the mountains. If you happen to wear jeans and non-hiking footwear, you'll be sent to home in shame :)

Cancellation policy: 24 hours prior to the trip. Keep in mind that this is not a dating service; you are either committed or not. Depending on your attitude, Friday late night cancellations may result in having a "no show" -- unless you have a viable excuse.

During the trip, you are expected to follow the trip organizer(s) and stick with the group. However, CORA trip organizer(s) are NOT certified mountain guides, but only experienced hikers volunteering and sharing their knowledge. As such, you are responsible for your own safety and equipment.

There will be a MANDATORY pre-trip meeting on June 19, 2014.

- At this pre-trip meeting all required permits and/or reservations need to be presented to the trip organizer, or you risk being removed from the trip.

- You must attend the meeting in order to participate in the trip if I have not hiked with you previously.
