If you are new to CORA and never hiked with us before, please read the description carefully.We admit paid members only. And there are two options: Either purchasing annual membership ($20) which lasts until the next AGM, or casual hiker's fee ($5) that is valid for one outing. Payments are done online, the blue link on the left (Smart phones/i-phones don't have this app, so it must be done on PC/MAC)

Where: Icefields (Banff NP)

Group Size: 10

Difficulty: Easy Scramble

Skill: Average level of fitness is required

Distance: 14 km (roundtrip)

Height Gain: 1052 meters

Pace: Slow on ascent; moderate-fast on descent

Hiking Time: 7 hours est.

Environmental Hazards: Bears, wind chills, altitude.

Basic Gear: 3 season hiking gear (backpack, waterproof hiking boots, poles, gaiters, windstopping shell layers, microspikes, rain coat, food and snacks, 2 litres of water, toque/beanie, gloves), camera, headlamp, sunglasses, first aid kit.

Technical Gear: None

• Jeans, casual shoes, runners, and cotton garments are absolutely prohibited!

Trip etiquette: CORA trips start at the trailhead. Be nice to plants and animals. Flatter your organizer. Provide some gas $$ to your driver by the end of the trip. Oh, and by joining this trip, you are bound to CORA Rules of Conduct (https://www.meetup.com/Calgary-Outdoor-Recreation-Association-CORA/pages/Rules_of_Conduct/). You'll also be expected to read and sign a trip waiver.
