'Bold and Evocative'

Tom Hardy proves he can act in a minor key in this compelling portrait of a man in transit and in crisis

Writes Jonathan Romney in the Observer

Tom Hardy was shaping
up as just another decent jobbing
actor until Nicolas Winding Refn’s electrifying BRONSON revealed his astonishing gift for physical transformation. But he can transform
in other ways too, and in Steven Knight’s ingenious LOCKE, he gives a solo performance unlike anything else.

Shot in real time during a journey along the M6, with no props and only a voice cast for support, Hardy is spellbinding as mild-mannered Ivan Locke, who receives a phone call that will change his life. Pieces of the jigsaw are gradually revealed as we watch Locke deal with a terrible dilemma, driving through the night against the backdrop of Haris Zambarloukos’s gorgeous, neon-swabbed cinematography.

Despite its minimalist cast and setting, this is not an exercise
in restraint, but rather a great piece of cinema, and a thoughtful meditation on what it means to be a man.

How to Meet;

I've booked seat K14 and just now the whole back row is available so hurry up and book!! It's just £8.50 with a picturehouse membership. Our firm meet up is in the picturehouse bar after the film. If you're new to the group or just want to be met by a friendly face then call/text me on[masked]. If you don't recognise the group then use that number too. I'll most likely come skidding in in a cloud of dust at 6:09pm. For those of you who don't know the picturehouse and think you can't make 5:50, films usually start 20 minutes after the published time.

Remember, if you're registered with this meet up you can post an event any time you like. Surely not that Alien?.....................
