About us
This group is for anyone in the Cambridge area interested in gaming of all kinds especially boardgames/ tabletop games. We arrange regular social meetups for tabletop gaming we also look to run events for wider geek culture be it retro video games nights, cinema trips – so come along and say hello and be part of something awesome!
If you are new to games in general fear not. We are an open community who look to welcome all of those who would like to come together and have fun playing games. Our many regular members kindly share there expansive collections are very supportive and will happily teach you how to play all sorts of wonderful games.
Equally if you have been playing games for years I am sure you will find great joy in our events and hopefully find some wonderful new games to play!

New: midweek games
Marvin's Place, 44 Mill Road, Cambridge, GBIn an exciting new development, we're holding our first (first for a very, very long time, anyway) event during the week. This is a monthly event, on the second Thursday of each month.
The venue
Our venue for this is Marvin's Place on Mill Road: marvins.placeThis is a slightly smaller and cosier space than the Sea Cadets, but there'll still be plenty of space for games. We are not charging a fee for this one, and Marvin's are offering a generous 25% off all food and drinks (excluding alcohol) for everyone attending, so if you're coming along, please make sure to take full advantage!
What to expect
In other respects, much the same as our other events: board games, card games, RPGs, miniatures games and anything else you can think of. The time is slightly more constrained than at the weekend, but if you think you can fit in a longer game, go for it!The one exception for the new space, as it's much smaller, is that we'll need to make an effort to keep the noise down a little, especially for the sake of those of our members who struggle with high noise levels. This means no social games, unfortunately, as they always tend to get very raucous.
Our collection is entirely derived from our generous members who collectively bring a tower of games that is always more than can be played in a single session. Feel free to bring along your own games to share too.
If you don't have any games yourself or are entirely new to games you are very much welcome to attend, and we will do our best to help you learn to play some wonderful new games.
And, as ever, if you have ideas for specific games to run or would like to see brought along just write a comment below to let everyone know and we can get things rolling.
A final word
As this is a trial of a new event, please RSVP as soon as you can so we have a good idea of numbers. Marvin's have also offered us the venue free of charge, so if you're attending, please plan on supporting them by making use of that discount!If the event proves to be successful, we might also be able to go to twice per month; we'll see how it goes.
