This month we'll be focusing on UI design, led with a talk from Nick Jones:

App design - Thinking beyond the Icon

In this short talk Nick Jones, a mobile UI designer, will draw from his experience in designing cross platform apps.

Nick will aim to summarise for non-designers what he believes are the key components in designing a better app. What are some of the steps you could take before starting to code? What are the best ways to define how you're going to structure the interface and user experience? By thinking through some of these aspects in advance it should save time in development and hopefully make for a final app that doesn't just rely on the icon.

As usual we'll be meeting from 7pm in the top room of The Fountain, and start proceedings at 7:30 with short introductions and the main talk. The talk will be followed by Q and A and drinks, with the first drinks kindly sponsored by Red Gate!
