This is a group for the vegetarians and vegans of Cambridge, anyone who wants to get out of the house and do something social. It doesn't just have to be foody outings, we can do cinema trips and country walks, whatever you lot want. But Stem and Glory and Lucy at 35 are likely to feature as regular venues! If we have a lot of active members then perhaps we can pressure some Cambridge restaurants to expand their range of veggie offerings too ;-)
Generally, listings will be events that someone wants to host and expects to be at, however sometimes we will list events purely because we think they're likely to be of interest to the community. In these cases the page can still be used for people to organise a meeting, but there won't be a host as such.
This is a monthly meetup at Lucy at 35 in Ely, on the fourth Sunday of the month (subject to other events going on!), intended for those living north of Cambridge but open to anyone who can attend.
The idea here is to get together, spend time with friends and enjoy the lovely treats this great place has to offer 😊.
** About the Venue **
The cafe is 100% vegan and also gluten-free (but comes with the warning that the food is prepared in the same facility as one handling gluten). They do nice cakes, teas and coffees (almond milk is available on request). The menu changes regularly but often have nice dishes such as Curries and Chickpea Tikka Masalas.
** How to Get There **
The address is 35 Fore Hill, Ely, CB7 4AA, UK.
The train station is a 10-minute walk away and easily accessible from Cambridge. The nearest car park is behind the Royal Standard, which is on the same street and is free to use.
** Other Important Info **
The venue takes cards, though there is a minimum spend of £5 if paying by card.
Though there is seating downstairs, we will most likely be sitting upstairs. Go through the door at the back of the room and you will find the stairs immediately to your right. On the first floor you will find the room with the seating directly ahead. There is a toilet off this room and downstairs also.
Unfortunately the venue is not wheelchair-accessible and cannot be made so because of the building’s listed status.
