What we're about
This meetup site is for club members although guests are encouraged to visit one or two meetings before deciding to join the club.
We are a club for amateurs and professionals. Since 1970, Camera Rochester has sought to stimulate interest in photography for people in the Greater Rochester Area.
The photographic skills of the club's members are as diverse as the members themselves. Graphics, nature, portraits, landscapes, close-up, fine art and technical photography are just some of the subjects that make monthly meetings interesting.
Competitions: On the first Monday of each month competitions are held in three categories: Digital, Prints and Uniquely Creative. Occasionally there is an additional special Assigned Topic.
Programs: including demonstrations and lectures, occur on the third Monday of the month. Members learn about photography's past, present and future, as well as state-of-the-art techniques. The Club's activities include exhibitions of our members’ images at Rochester-area galleries.
Camera Rochester members help each other learn more about cameras and photographic techniques in a friendly atmosphere. It is never too early or too late to start taking photographs. If you enjoy photography, then please consider joining us - guests are welcome to attend two meetings before joining. Meetings are held at Clover Center for the Arts (formerly the Baptist Temple), 1101 Clover Street, Rochester, N. Y. on the first and third Mondays of each month (except July and August) at 7:15 p. m.
