What we’re about
Few destinations can boast the accessibility, variety and sheer grandeur of the Canadian Rockies! Home to no fewer than seven parks, the Canadian Rockies offer some of the most stunning hiking in North America complete with immense, snow-capped peaks, seemingly endless forests, rivers and vibrantly colored lakes.
The Canadian Rockies Adventures Group (CRAG) is a membership only based group dedicated to spending as much time outside as possible with like-minded, fun individuals!
If you enjoy hiking, camping, canoeing, kayaking, backpacking, scrambling, caving, skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, climbing and many out activities and you have a keen sense of fun ... this could be the group for you!
Many of our activities will be moderate/intermediate level (there are many other excellent clubs out there for those who are beginners or who prefer a slow pace), with the focus being on trips to the Canadian Rockies or similar and the emphasis is always on safety and fun.
To become a member:
Please provide us with a recognizable picture of yourself on your profile, this is for safety reasons, and to make organizer`s duties (such as recording fee payments and no-shows) easier.
Annual membership is $20 per person, this must be paid to attend any overnight and out of town events (This is anything over 1 day in duration or greater than 1.5 hour's drive from Edmonton).
For in city events only (less than one day duration, less than 1.5 hour drive from Edmonton) you can pay 2$ per event, instead of the annual 20$ fee. These payments will go towards the annual fee if you do decide to pay it later. The current membership will remain valid for 1 year from time of payment. All members must sign off our electronic waiver form prior to their first event.
All members and guests must fill our our electronic waiver once a year before attending events by going to this link:
If your guest is a minor, please let us know as a different waiver will need to be used.
Three no shows or last minute cancellations (where you sign up for an event but don`t show up) will get you removed from the group, as will any unsafe, illegal, abusive, or generally dramatic behavior at events.
