About us

The Canberra Microsoft Analytics & Data Community is the next evolution of the Canberra Microsoft Analytics & Power BI User Group.
We bring together people across Canberra who are working with Microsoft data and analytics technologies - including Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Azure Data, SQL, AI, Purview, governance and modern data platforms.

This is a community for practitioners, architects, analysts, engineers, leaders, consultants, partners, students and government teams who want to learn from each other and build stronger local connections.

Our focus is practical and real-world. We are especially interested in what is actually happening across Canberra: what organisations are trying, what patterns are working, what is hard, and what people wish they had known earlier.

Events will usually be social and discussion-friendly rather than presentation-heavy. A short talk, demo or discussion prompt may start the conversation, but the community is the main event.

We’re restarting the Canberra Microsoft Analytics and Power BI User Group, repositioned more broadly as the Canberra Microsoft Analytics & Data Community and focusing on in-person connection.

The aim is to create a regular local community for people working with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Azure Data, AI, SQL, governance and modern analytics platforms across Canberra. This won’t be a traditional presentation-heavy user group; the goal is to bring together people who are solving similar problems, share real-world experiences, and connect with each other.

For the first meeting, we’re keeping it deliberately lightweight:

What would people most like to learn from others in Canberra?
Feedback on the group - date, time, location, style, topics?
