Abstract:
How can you make streaming analytics easier? Data-at-Rest is your collection of historic data, supported by mature Apache projects around Hadoop. Data-in-Motion is current, live data that when combined with Data-at-Rest provides insights against What Is Happening Now with the knowledge of What Has Happened Before. Apache NiFi was created by the NSA and Open Sourced in 2014 and is designed to manage the rapid flow of data managed via a GUI tool. We will discuss a fictitious case of a modern streaming app where we will cover the common tasks you would perform in many of the processing use cases across the data centre and the cloud, while focusing on NiFi and Kafka.
